Project Varsity began as recruiting tool for amateur athletes to market their talents to collegiate recruiters. Along the way we discovered that in order to do that effectively required building a lot of functionality--user profiles, team profiles, photo tools, video tools, etc--and that there might be a larger market opportunity (and rev model) as a team management app. We began a long pivot to that space and rebranded the service as VarsID. We shut the service down in March 2009.
